   No one can deny that Pacquiao still has loads of speed and power, as Marquez was clearly overmatched in both departments during their third fight. However, it is the "drive" and the "hunger" that made Pacquiao a household name that was missing-in-action during this last fight. Unlike Marquez who was willing to engage anytime, anywhere in the ring, Pacquiao was a lot tentative. He was trying to cut Marquez's space but after that he does not do anything to take advantage of his skills. The old Pacquiao would have ravaged his opponent the moment that the bell rings and the only thing that can stop him from destroying his foe is the referee. Now, it seems like he is not able to "pull the trigger" like he used to.

   Marquez, for all his 26 years of boxing experience, acts like he never knew of these things about being a challenger.
   
   This is a professional fight, not an Olympic fight. In Olympic, a boxer wins on points. In Professional fights, a challenger can dethrone a champion only by:
   
   1. Technical Knockout
   2. Referee stopped contest
   3. Retirement (like de la hoya)
   4. Close fight with a knockdown of the champion (probably a split decision in favor of the challenger)

   I, and the rest of anyone who knows anything about boxing, had Marquez ahead by 2 points. This is good because it shuts up Manny and Roach. They thought they were going to kill Marquez. Manny is top 6 best fighter of all time at best.

Marquez was increditable on the night and I agree one could argue that he won the fight, however I believe that this could be the best wake call for Manny, to manny distrations outside of boxing. An on form Manny is unbeatable even by Floyd.    Hey Mr. African, Manny is was not the judge in this fight. If you still do not know, a fighter is the one who fights in the ring, a judge does his homework by scoring every round. The match could have gone either way, but it has been proven every now and then that a much more aggressive champion would always get the decision in favor of a counter fighting defensive challenger. Stop acting like Marquez and give manny the respect he is due. Boxing would have been as boring as scripted Wrestling without manny anyway

   it is my opinion that Manny did not give his best on purpose. If he would have went in and fought Marquez like he did Margarito....do you really think Mayweather would get in a ring with him? Hell No!!!! This is going to give Mayweather some false hope, to think that Pac is losing his touch. And another thing...the only way in Hell any judges are going to take a belt from a champion in professional boxing, is by Ko, tko, or refree stopping the fight.    I'm a Filipino.But it was clear JMM won the fight.Manny tried to come back at the later rounds.But it was clear JMM threw better counter punches in the exchange.I also didn't like what Manny said that it was clear he won the fight.Because it was a very close fight and in my opinion JMM threw better in the exchanges.Even Manny himself wasn't sure if he won the fight while the score cards were being presented.He said he had cramps.But if you guys can recall in another fight he blamed the socks he was wearing for giving a bad performance.I'm a great fan of Manny.But I think he has lost alot of things.Like his killer instinct and humility.

   Guys. I am a huge Pacquaio fan and and a hage fan of Marquez also, so I can give an impartial perspective on what I saw. I live in the UK and so stayed up until 5.30am to watch this fight. I thought it was evenly contested, a real classic chess match, full of skills and good boxing. I thought Manny looked sharp, dancing in and out and fizzing punches around. Marquez however, was a clear winner for me by at least 2 rounds. Yes, he was the counter-puncher, but that's his style, that's wht he does. Yes, Manny initiated much of the fight, but Marquez waited for openings and picked Manny off as he came flying in. Paquiao landed some good power shots however I believe Marquez put together the more meaningful combinations and almost completely negated Manny's left. He made an extraordinary fighter look ordinary, all down to his excellent boxing skills. It' boxing guys, Marquez OUTBOXED Manny. It's true, we all know boxing is corrupt, and Bob Arum is ruining the sport, but like Don King before him and the many that I'm sure will follow, Arum is using Manny as his cash cow. "Lets have a 4th fight" he says, of course he does, he makes a few phonecalls and then sits back and waits for the PPV figures to come rolling in and make him richer than he already is. Boxing is a noble sport, the two fighters last night put on great show, and it is ultimately tainted and overshadowed by promoters with the judges in their pocket. Sad. I feel for Marquez. But then, certain post-fight reactions tell the real story. Amir Khan (Manny's stablemate) who guest commentated said he thought Manny lost, the fighters and their teams reactions after the final bell, these all tell the true story. Marquez won. You can come on all day with them compubox stats but they are misleading. MARQUEZ WON. We all know it deep down. Only Manny fans will disagree. Well done Marquez. The real winner of last night. The loser however, is the sport of boxing....

   Yes it was a close fight, very close, but that doesnt justify enough that Marquez had won. I agree though- that Marquez gave all his best and did a great a job last night- but to dethrone a champ, one must knock the Champ out, which Marquez failed doing so. Manny was the winner thru all his hard punches and aggressiveness. It may looked unbelievable but his hard hits and Marquez's constant backing up did not lie. Im neither Filipino nor Mexican but Im a fan of both boxers.

   It was a close fight but i think pacquaio won. You could see the damage on eachothers face. Besides from the cut on pacquiaos eye from the headbutt he only had a busted lip and thats all. Marquez face was swollen and eye was beginning to shut so how could marquez have more solid punches. Marquez was backpedaling through most of the fight and didnt do anything special in the mid later rounds cause his corner was already telling him he was winning so he was just playing safe. He didnt follow through like he said he was gonna do and not leave it in the judges hands but he did cause he was playing safe and thought he was going to win since his corner was telling him that since the mid to later rounds. Everybody tryin to say pacquiao knew he lost from his reaction at the end of the fight but maybe that reaction was from he knew he won the fight but disappointed on not how dominant like he wanted it to be so there wouldnt be this talk of who won the fight just like the previous 2 fights and he admitted that in the post fight that he just has to accept that he will not win dominantly against marquez cause of his style

   Marquez has crazy skills! He was the teacher in this fight and manny the student! That is why pacman was so desperate and frustrated. Just look at the punches thrown and the among connected. Manny threw more but connected less compared to marquez who threw less but connected more of his punches. Also marquez's punches connected harder and you have to be blind to not see that. It doesn't matter what we all say or opinion on in here, as this fight will be the one that will always haunt manny's career as the one that shouldn't of been and will go down through history.    My opinion here is not biased. So here goes.. It was a close fight and i would honestly give this fight another draw. But there was no way, that Marquez clearly won this fight, like he says.
   As an audience, Marquez was super defensive last night, and wasn't putting up a good show for fans. Pacquiao had to make all the first punches. And that is not fair.

   From what I saw in the fight, I also had my own unofficial score card and It was a very close fight, I had to admit both gentlemen were great fighters there are some rounds that I gave to Pacquaio and some rounds that I gave to Marquez, Pacquaio was an agressive fighter and Marquez was also a good counter puncher hitting some hard solid punches but in the end, I had Pacquiao winning by just a point difference. You need to look back in the replay and analyze closely each round. This is what the sport is all about.

   The Fans were booing pacquiao before the fight already started so ofcourse marquez thinks he won. They erupted as soon as marquez landed and when pacquiao did connect the majority of the crowd wasn't feeling it. pacman threw more punches and landed more.. just because marquez landed cleaner punches doesn't mean anything. If i was in a 12 round match and threw 3 clean punches and 5 jabs per round and the opponent hit me with 15 jabs and 1 clean punch do you think i would win? No.. and besides marquez is the contender so he should of been more aggressive to win since he is the challenger. he was playing counter defensive and expecting to win against manny in points.. that is just plain dumb. the fight should of either went split decision to pacquiao or a draw but not majority decision and definitely not marquez as a winner, this is just my opinion. all the negative people should watch the fight in slow motion and count every punches thrown, im sure you've missed a few and might consider changing your mind.

   I've been a Pacquiao's fan for years, but I have to say I was very disappointed in his last 2 performances. One with Mosley and this one. He doesn't seem to have that hunger to win anymore. I guess when you're rich and think you already accomplished everything, you don't put in 100%. Even Pacquaio keep saying he's already satisfied with what he's done in boxing. I think he should just retired and leave his legacy as is. He's too busy with other activities in his life and doesn't put his heart in boxing anymore. This fight with Marquez was too obvious.

   What you think and what it is are two different things. The winning of Pac has nothing to do with him actually winning the fight. The promoters expect now that this will increase the percentage the $ if pac fights May., but after this fight , pac does not have the same value.. at least to me he does not, and it would be a shame to watch him fight against May.    I've had several look at the replay. I wanted to be convinced that the win was righteous. It just didn't happen. It should have been a draw or JMM by a small lead.
   
   Draw because both fighters where equally aggressive using their own styles. It doesn't mean that JMM is moving backwards, he is not aggressive. Manny punches his opponents leaping back or side to side at times and breaks their faces. That's what we were seeing. It was a strategic movement. (I hope the judges saw that)
   
   JMM with the win because he made the cleaner shots. His counterpunches should have convinced the judges that JMM was out-boxing Manny. He didn't mind going toe to toe with Manny because he's got the heart to stand-up after a KD. That is his armor.(note: Mayweather doesn't have this resolve)
   
   Pasensya na pareng Manny but you need the 4th fight more than JMM does. If you leave it as is, a lot of people will think that JMM is the champion of YOU regardless of how many more fighters you beat. (including Mayweather)

   its funny how some of you thinks that Marquez won this fight. He was backing up the whole entire fight and waiting for Pacman to throw punches. I give it to Marquez...he definitely fought a much better fight this time. i really thought it was a very close fight that it would've gone either way. But in the judges eyes I think Marquez had to be the aggressive fighter, had to really hurt Pacman even put him down in order to win this fight. by just going round per round, you can not blame the judges. First of, Pac threw more punches and landed more punches than Marquez. So how are you going to say that Marquez won this fight...oh he landed more stronger punches? which it didn't stun or knock Pacman down. You dont win fights counting who got more stronger punches landed. Even the people who aren't the judges that were judging the fight had Pacman win by a round or two. So now you guys are saying the judges were paid. come on people....i can understand your loyalty but you have to be fair. I think you guys think that Marquez won that fight because Pacman wasn't really fighting like the way he was fighting in his previous fights. Clearly, he landed more punches than Marquez did and that's how you determine the winner if they wasn't a knockdown.
