Mayweather who recently took the 87-day plea bargain for assaulting an ex-lover (who by the way is also the mother of his children). He attends counseling every week and serves the community regularly just as he promised the court. Mayweather, who was looking for an opponent to present to the athletic commission, seized the opportunity, and challenged Cotto to a junior middleweight bout at MGM Grand Las Vegas.

Miguel Cotto's Top Rank contract recently expired, was looking for a big payout, so he accepted Mayweather challenge. It goes to say that this May 5, 2012 fight will be promoted mainly by the Golden Boy camp with participation from both fighters. The random blood test, which was one of the stumbling blocks in previous Mayweather vs Pacquiao negotiations, will be implemented on the Mayweather vs Cotto fight. It should be noted, however, that Pacquiao agreed to blood testing recently.

"Mayweather I'm fighting Miguel Cotto on May 5th because Miss Pac Man is ducking me," said Floyd on his Twitter page.
