After Manny Pacquiao won the fight, Larry Merchant interviewed both Manny and Juan Manuel. He asked them through his boxing analysis question and Merchant's asking them both if the third round knockdown is a factor. Both fighters think that they've won.

Larry Merchant interviewing Manny Pacquiao

Larry Merchant: Congratulations Manny, were you surprise by the result? Did you think that you have won the fight?

Manny Pacquiao: Yeah, I think I won the fight, and uh, I really expect this fight it's gonna be hard because Marquez he trained hard and he prepared for this fight.

Larry Merchant: What did you see in him that was different from the first fight? What did you do to try and win this fight?

Manny Pacquiao: Actually, the last time, the first time, he jab a lot, and uhm, and then now he, he didn't jab.

Larry Merchant: How much did the cut-off over your eye bother you?

Manny Pacquiao: Oh, it really bothered me because I can't see my right eyes, and uh, I can't see his uh, right and then left and right hands and then in hook. That's why I'm so bothered and I told them, I, my coach that I'm uh, make it heal so that I can recover in this fight.

Larry Merchant: The difference in this fight proved to be your knockdown of him. Let's see if we can take another look at the knock down, and you tell us what happens. You try your right hand and you miss...

Manny Pacquiao: Well, uhm, that's our plan, our number one plan, for the training is the left hook and uh, I'm lucky to hit that round.

Larry Merchant: Did he do a good job another than that, of not letting you do too much damage with your left hand?

Manny Pacquiao: Well, uhm, I see Marquez this tonight because uh, he move fast, and he had head movement and uhm, more counterpunch.

Larry Merchant: Could you have beaten him, four years ago, with this style of fighting? We're you so much better now that you we're able to beat him this time?

Manny Pacquiao: Well, I, I think I'm uh, I believe that I do my best try tonight, and uh, I'm happy because I win. It's really hard opponent Marquez that's why I'm uh...

Larry Merchant: All right, we assume that this is your last fight at junior lightweight, that you would move up in weight, for your next fight, is that true?

Manny Pacquiao: I don't now yet, because I didn't talk to my uhm, to my promoter yet, and also my camp. But we have a plan to fight on 135 lbs. but uh, it's not yet, uh, fixed.

Larry Merchant: Thank you, congratulations again Manny.

Larry Merchant interviewing Juan Manuel Marquez

Larry Merchant: Juan Manuel, you fought a wonderful fight. First, tell us how bad was the eye to the late stages of the fight. For you, to be able to deal with.

Juan Manuel Marquez: (English Translation) It didn't affect me, it was a head-butt, and then we thought we won, and the decision wasn't correct.

Larry Merchant: Once again, the knock-down proved to be the difference in this fight. Did you fight, other than that, the fight that you wanted to fight?

Juan Manuel Marquez: (English Translation) Yes, we've hurt him, we've hurt him three, four, five times, but like in 2004, it's not only just one round.

Larry Merchant: Do you feel like in a way, this is the story of your career, that somehow this slipped away from you, as well as you fought him well both times?

Juan Manuel Marquez: (English Translation) I haven't lost, I haven't lost anything, I haven't lost anything at all, and the people will see that we've won. And decisions like this is obviously discouraged, but we believe we won.

Larry Merchant: Thank you Juan Manuel for another wonderful fight.
