Manny Pacquiao Interview Video - One Day after the Knock Out

Manny Pacquiao Interview Video - One Day after the Knock Out - GMA, one of the leading TV network in the Philippines, has released yet again an after Marquez video at their official YouTube channel. The morning news and talk show “Unang Hirit” (First Salvo/First Response) interviewed Manny Pacquiao and his wife Jinkee. Jinkee was emotional after the Marquez 4 fight and is still evident during this interview. Manny Pacquiao is emotionally affected by his wife’s reaction. Arnold Clavio and Rhea Santos-De Guzman is the host for the show.

The video is in Tagalog (translated in English below)

Arnold Clavio: Friends, we are talking today to eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao and his wife Jinkee Pacquiao. Good afternoon, congressman Manny and Jinkee.

Jinkee Pacquiao: Good morning.

Manny Pacquiao: Good morning there (looks at his wrist watch).

Rhea Santos-De Guzman: Hi Manny, hi Jinkee.

Arnold Clavio: You first Manny, how are you? How’s your health?

Manny Pacquiao: I’m okay, I’m fine (smiles).

Arnold Clavio: Jinkee the world was shocked when they saw your reaction. How are you today?

Jinkee Pacquiao: I’m okay.

Arnold Clavio: What was going through your mind when you saw Manny in a bad situation inside the ring?

Jinkee Pacquiao: I was scared for what happened to him because it took him a while to get up.

Rhea Santos-De Guzman: Manny, Jinkee…

Manny Pacquiao: …yes?

Rhea Santos-De Guzman: Our news source told us that you’ll be back on Wednesday. Will that continue? Do you have clearance from your doctor that you can travel?

Arnold Clavio: There’s no problem. I got out of the hospital after the checkup.

Rhea Santos-De Guzman: As of this time, do you feel any pain?

Manny Pacquiao: None.

Rhea Santos-De Guzman: That’s good.

Rhea Santos-De Guzman: Our news source told us that you still watched your fight with Juan Manuel Marquez? What can you say? Did you lack in your performance? Are you open? Or did you give all your best?

Manny Pacquiao: My preparation was not lacking. If you saw the fight, at the initial rounds, I was aggressive. My movement is fast up to the 6th round. And my movement is good [cough], but sometimes things happens.

Arnold Clavio: You didn’t really see the incoming punch Manny.

Manny Pacquiao: The reason is I was confident when I heard the last 10 seconds warning. I fake with him twice, I was outbalanced in the 2nd one, and he straight me.

[Manny and Jinkee speaks to their children briefly about personal life. Jinkee cries.]

Rhea Santos-De Guzman: Friend, I want to find out the feelings of a wife and mother. Because we’re wife too, we can relate to Jinkee while we saw Manny is down. Jinkee, what was going through your mind at that point?

Jinkee Pacquiao: Fear. I was shaking, I didn’t know what happened. It’s the first time I saw him not get up. A boxer life is on the line… [Sobbing]… But thank God he’s okay that’s the most important thing. He’s okay, and the worst didn’t happen… [Crying]

Arnold Clavio: Manny, how do you alleviate the fear of Jinkee. What did you do and what did you say to her?

Manny Pacquiao: Thank God that I’m still breathing. [Smiles] And he saved me from harm.

Rhea Santos-De Guzman: Manny the world stops in the Philippines. Everyone was praying that you stand up. And finally, with God’s grace you stand up.

Manny Pacquiao: I didn’t know that I was upside-down. [Smiles]

[TV Anchors Laughs]

Arnold Clavio: Jinkee, Manny has upcoming fights. There seems to be an April fight, if it’s up to you, what’s your plan?

Jinkee Pacquiao: [Sobbing] Manny knows my answer. He knows what I want.

Arnold Clavio: Win or lose you’re with him.

Jinkee Pacquiao: Yes, of course… [Cries] I’m here for him. [Crying] I’ll take care of his children. [Cried and hugged Manny]

Rhea Santos-De Guzman: Jinkee, you are an inspiration.

Arnold Clavio: [Jokes] Looks like there will be a 5th child.

Jinkee Pacquiao: [Sobbing] I’m too emotional when it comes to my husband. When my husband goes out, I sometimes couldn’t sleep because he might not return. [Crying]

Rhea Santos-De Guzman: Manny maybe that deserve an answer, what do you have to say to Jinkee?

Arnold Clavio: Talk to him Manny.

Manny Pacquiao: I’m holding back the tears.

Arnold Clavio: Hug her.

Manny Pacquiao: [Comforted her]… It’s okay. Thank God. Thanks for the fans for the support… [Sniffing] … That’s really…

Arnold Clavio: Go ahead Manny. We will understand you Manny if you want to cry… That’s okay, it’s just sometimes… but like what we Filipino says, we’re with you when you’re on top, and we’re with you more now that you’re down.

Rhea Santos-De Guzman: We’re very proud of you Manny and we love your family.

Arnold Clavio: You are still the champion in our hearts, no matter what happened yesterday.

Manny Pacquiao: [Wipe tears] I’m okay. To all the people who supported me, I want to make them happy. They are all sad now. I hope that there’s no problem, I accepted the defeat, that’s my job. When the time comes you have to accept defeat. But when I see the reaction of the people, the Filipinos, that many cried, especially a family who cries, it hurts me.

Rhea Santos-De Guzman: Manny, we’re not sad because we’re with you on Christmas. Thank you very much for making the Filipinos happy.

Manny, I'm a massive fan from the UK. You should listen to your mum! Isn't it a coincidence that you have lost the last two fights? You have turned your back on the CC. That guy Marquez and many mexicans are so dedicated to boxing - isn't that all they do in life? Marquez is so studious and focused so much on beating you. I'd wished he could have done the same to Mayweather!

Everyone makes mistakes I feel Manny walked into that punch. Marquez was already finished If it wasn't for that punch. A real champ fights anyone anywhere , bigger or smaller. Thats Manny a real Champ. Mayweather may have no losses on his record but the guy picks and chooses his fights.I wish the Pacman could come back and drop that scary cat, either way Manny will go down as the best most entertaining Boxer of all time in my books!
    #Team Pacquiao

Maltese Massive - good point on the Mayweather comment. Just Imagine what mayweather would do to Pacquiao...

Juantastico- Mayweather won't do anything to Pacquiao but run all night and use his elbow

Mayweather fought Marquez at a catch weight. Marquez couldn't carry the weight like he does now. If there was a rematch between Marquez vs Mayweather now mayweather would run into trouble. Bottom line is ONE punch changed it all lets not forget Pacquaio was winning every round accept the 2nd.

All the greats ALI, MykeTyson, Sugar Ray had losses but that never changed the fact that they were the best in the world. So Pacman is still one of the greatest and I hope he learns from this fight so he can come back stronger then ever.

Manny i salute you being a boxer and true man to tell you the true ,you miss one before you fight , you forget the sign of the cross and you forget also to wear the lucky rosary, Pls return that way and your power will return. You will not be loose forever.

Hey Anonymous at 5:13pm. How are you going to say that Pacquiao won every round except the 2nd??? For one, he lost the 3rd Round 10-8 because he got his ass knocked-down. And he clearly lost the 4th Round as well. Pacquiao then got lucky because he TRIPPED Marquez in the 5th Round and his glove touched the canvas. That wasnt even a knock-down. And I dont have to remind you what happened in the 6th Round. Finally after getting ROBBED the first 3 fights, Marquez left no doubt who the better fighter is.

    Anonymous ( December 12, 2012 at 3:49 PM )

It was a great fight, congratulations to both fighters, nothing is forever, no excuses and you have to accept the defeat of Pacquiao, the king dead long live the new king

Pacquiao looked great for much of the fight. He is the complete package as a boxer and definitely looked sharper and more co-ordinated than Marquez. I think he was just unlucky to get caught by this punch. He puts up with a massive amount of pressure-the guy is both a champion and also human like the rest of us!

Your still the best Manny!!! Thumbs up for you. Win or lose it doesn't matter as long as you did your part not just for your own good but also for the country.. Advance Merry Christmas sir...We are very very proud of you..We hope your okay now... God bless you. and your family sir..

Pacquiao is still a champion in many people's eyes. I think he is one of the best boxers we will ever see. How many boxers have developed throughout their career as Pacquiao has and also not shied away from difficult fights. Please do not fight Marquez again-he has an awkward style! Listen to Roach's choice!

    Anonymous ( December 28, 2012 at 9:28 AM )

i think thats a good idea not to fight marquez again.since Manny is a true person knows how to accept defeat even in times of situation like this he can still manage to get up and be a man. that's what a true champion is. I salute you Manny for being true of what you have felt. I think you have to focus now on what God has given rather to the things you've conceived.
