Jessica Sanchez Singer of US National Anthem at Pacquiao vs Bradley - Jessica Sanchez, the American with Mexican-Filipino heritage, who was runner-up of the recent American Idol Season 11 has confirmed via Twitter that she will sing the "Star Spangled Banner." Her Tweet is as follows:

"So excited to sing the US National anthem for @MannyPacquiao vs. @TimBradleyJr @HBO Pay-Per-View this Sat @TRBoxing @HBOBoxing #PacBradley"

She sang the Star Spangled Banner during the recent National Memorial Day concert in Washington DC:



Jessica Sanchez isn't the first American with Filipino-Mexican heritage to sing the US National Anthem. Jasmine Villegas has Filipino and Mexican heritage and sang the US National Anthem in a couple of Pacquiao fights:



Jasmine V sang "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the following boxing matches:

- Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Márquez (a Mexican)
- Manny Pacquiao vs. David Díaz (Mexican-American)
- Miguel Cotto vs. Antonio Margarito
- Juan Manuel Márquez vs. Joel Casamayor
- Manny Pacquiao vs. Ricky Hatton
- Victor Ortiz vs. Floyd Mayweather, Jr. boxing

Jessica also isn't the first American Idol alumni with Filipino heritage who sang the US anthem at Pacquiao fight.

Thia Megia of American Idol Season 10 sang the National Anthem at Pacquiao vs Marquez 3:


Ramiele Malubay of Season 7 sang the Star Spangled Banner at Pacquiao vs Cotto:


Thia Megia and Jasmine V is a good friend of Jessica Sanchez.

Manny Pacquiao has in the past chosen the singers of anthems, so since Pacquiao is one of those who supports Jessica it is safe to assume that Jessica was chosen by him:


It is interesting to note that Jessica who lives in California hasn't visited Pacquiao at his Los Angeles training camp. Instead the Pacman was visited by Season 11 Top 10 American Idol contestant Heejun Han:



Jessica Sanchez has a large Filipino following around the world and has appeared in various TV talk shows after almost winning the American Idol reality show.
