For a moment there, Mayweather looks vulnerable. Cotto was bringing the fight to Mayweather through good pacing. However, Mayweather is a smart boxer, and refused to play into Cotto’s game, slowing the fight so that he can use his technical skill.

However, Cotto senses Mayweather’s tactics, push on in the late rounds, receiving punches be damned. Cotto’s trademark up and down combo is on beautiful display. In the end, Cotto’s effort wasn’t enough, as Mayweather’s counterpunching combo sealed the fight. Cotto went to lose to a fight with his shield up, in a true battle that is worth watching.
