Floyd Mayweather vs Victor Ortiz Play by Play Round by Round - We're doing a live round by round of the fight. Floyd Mayweather makes his way to the ring to face the young Victor Ortiz. The two will vie for the WBC 147-pound belt, Ortiz defending his title at the welterweight. We'll have updates for the main event.

Round 1: Mayweather throwing his lead right, ducking counter attempts. Left to the body by Ortiz. Right to the body by Floyd. He looks real fast as usual. Right lead by Floyd. ortiz isn’t eating those just yet. Ortiz with a right hook, not big. Right hand by Floyd, that one was sharp. That lead is excellent so far. Ortiz corners him, and goes to the body. Nice work by Victor. Left hook by Floyd and then he gets right back out. Ortiz looks HUGE.

Ortiz throwing and missing from range. Right to the body by Ortiz as he presses Floyd to the ropes. Victor lets him off the ropes even though Cortez is letting it go. Floyd slips a left from Ortiz. Mayweather round, but an interesting round. Ortiz looks like he belongs for now.

Round 2 : Crowd very much behind Ortiz, chanting for him to start round two. Floyd gets in real close, real quick, and neutralizes Ortiz a bit. Ortiz with a left, and now he’s putting on pressing. Elbow from Floyd, quick warning from Cortez. Long right from Floyd. Floyd short with a right. Body shot from Floyd, Ortiz chops him with a right. Right hook body, left hand body from Ortiz. Right hook upstairs doesn’t land. Straight right from Floyd gets through the guard. Ortiz stalking Floyd, but Mayweather pops him. Ortiz walks him into the corner.

Ortiz pressing, throwing that left hand, and just a bit too slow on it. Just a hair. he’s really in this fight for sure. Right from Floyd to the body. Left to the body from Victor. His shots are harder, and that body work is nice. Mayweather with two rights upstairs, now measures one and is blocked. Ortiz gets him to the conrer, charges, and gets tied up. Ortiz really trying to maul Floyd. This is not bad at all. Not bad at all.

Round 3: Floyd flicking his jab out. Left hook by Floyd, and then he gets him with another one. That’s classic Floyd. Caught him coming straight in. Floyd coming forward now. Eye of the pumpkin trunks. Another counter left hook from Floyd as Ortiz walks in. Right hand from Floyd chops. STIFF right hand from Floyd. GOD CALL THIS FIGHT, STOP TELLING ME ORTIZ’S FUCKING LIFE STORY.

Right hand again from Floyd. He’s REALLY picking him apart this round. This is Mayweather all over. Floyd with another left hook that Ortiz comes right into. Floyd’s in a groove. Victor looks a little confused. Right hand again. Ortiz has landed 2 punches apparently this round. 24 seconds left. Hard right by Floyd.

Right again by Floyd. Floyd backing him down now. Victor needs to adapt, fast.

Round 4: Floyd now throwing his hands all over and getting to Victor a ton. Ortiz marking up. Ortiz just doesn’t know what to do with Floyd. It has already started.

Floyd with the right again. Right uppercut. He’s tearing Ortiz apart. Ortiz now coming and gets to Flod on the ropes! ORTIZ LETS HIM OFF! AND THEN COMES BACK! ORTIZ POURING IT ON, BUT FLOYD SHAKES IT OFF!

Right hand Floyd. Jab from Floyd. Good left to the body by Ortiz. Man, if Ortiz can get on him… Ortiz looks more confident now. Still getting picked apart, but not getting demoralized yet, as it appeared. Ortiz slips two left hooks. Might be seeing it coming better now. Good right by Floyd, not flush but landed nicely. Uppercut Floyd and HERE COMES VICTOR AGAIN

oh my god, Ortiz just violently headbutted Mayweather on purpose. That was horrible. He hugs Mayweather, he just totally lost his temper. He’s really lucky he didn’t get DQ’d. MAYWEATHER FLATTENS ORTIZ WHEN VICTOR TRIES TO HUG HIM COMING BACK

    first of all I'd like to say that Ortiz looked over
    matched Floyd out boxed him and won every round coming up to the KO. The head butt was blatent but it seemed that when Ortiz got in close to Floyd on the ropes he kept leaning in with his head i thought he should've been warned eariler like in round 2. There were 3 apologies by Ortiz, first when it happened before the ref stepped in to deduct the point Floyd maintained his composure
    then Ortiz came back to him with a hug truley apologetic, then ref comes and sends Ortiz to corner & signals fighters to center of ring they touch gloves Ortiz still apologetic ref gives sign
    to box then turns to start clock Floyd beins to box
    catches ortiz clean no sucker punch. thats what he is supposed to do. we all know the saying "Protect yourself at all times" especially after the ref seperates fighters! the Larry Merchant thing Floyd
    is right Larry Jim, Max don"t give floyd his props
    The sport of boxing gets crazy money from Mayweathers participation in the sport. stop hating
    saying he ducks or picks out vonurable fighters
    he fights the top fighters in the division. Great Job Floyd Mayweather, Ortiz good try don't give up

    victor ortiz should retain his title, mayweather should be ban from boxing from unsportmanship behavior. he can only beat women and an opponent is off guard not looking.

    Mayweather's attitude seems to be uneducated, sarcastic, and undisciplined boxer. He is truly a coward, he's like a lady, plenty of nonsense words came out from his mouth. The truth is he don't want to fight Paquao because hi's a coward ,like a lady.. his actuation to Larry is an evil works..
