Miguel Cotto Training and Sparring Videos.

Salinas, Puerto Rico. His body is somewhat exhausted from the workload of the initial training.

No wonder.

From the moment that the trainer Phil Landman rejoined the corner of Miguel Cotto, working toward his date with Manny Pacquiao has been arduous.

"The muscles are a little resentful, but that's normal at this time. We worked hard as ever. Phil always puts me to work hard to get ready for the fight," Cotto said after completing a routine in the Juan Evangelista Venegas gym at the Olympic Lodge.

The welterweight champion (147 pounds) of the World Boxing Organization (WBO) moved to Salinas after an initial stage which was designed by Landman with the idea of establishing a base in the face of the most intense phase of training.

In addition to floor exercises, Cotto yesterday made his second sparring with boxer Frankie Santos.

"As far as sparring is concerned, they are sparring a little to let go of the hands and to establish a base, for when we move to Tampa, Florida," he said.

A "Ring" Bigger

Cotto, on the other hand, downplayed the possibility that the duel against Filipino star within a ring is size 24 feet by 24 feet, which regularly supports a mobile boxer.

"Pacquiao is not a better boxer than Miguel Cotto," he said. "I have no problems with the size of the ring."

Also, Joe Santiago, Cotto's trainer said you want your ward fit the size of the flooring as soon as possible. "A large ring favors Manny as it moves a lot, but the strong man in this fight is Miguel," he said.

how come he's sparring with a guy on an orthodox stance. that's rediculous

This is just light training to get Cotto back in shape. The southpaw part will be later.

Man, Cotto has lots of tatoo!

No match for pacquiao.Very slow, Look at Cotto style reverse side walk...

Cotto is seriously motivated on this fight..He's in a tremendous shape already, those powerful body shots might be a big problem to Pacquiao..

Never forget his fight with Mosley when He neutralized his speed and eventually won..This guy is not to be taken lightly..He took Mosley's big powerful right hooks and impressively walked away...Cotto is a tough opponent..Pacquiao need to get well prepared...

pac better not take 'em lightly or he can get kayoed

I wonder if pacquiao can hurt cotto the way he did against hatton..
Manny's power is still underrated though..His power is unproven with guys who are going to weigh 155 lbs. above at fight night...
But he sure has it, along with his speed..

On the other hand,Cotto is a fighter who knows how to adjust..He has the heart of a lion.
He has that power that can hurt Pacquiao..
He's got power in both hands and although he's a converted southpaw- his right hand stings too...

Combinations of manny and his foot movement against the timed Big shots of miguel.

Manny needs a good game plan to neutralize miguel's power. Turn him.

Cotto needs to work on his straight right and left hook to the body. Cut the ring off.

If pacquiao survived the first 4 round with a dominant passion, he's gonna win.

But it's more likely that the puncher's chance in cotto, will stop him within 4 rounds.
    Left hook.

    Peace.

Pacquiao left straight can K.O a boxer plus 35pounds in his own weight,I always remember when he was in a flyweight division, He Knocked Out a Japanese Welterweight Champion in a 4 rounds sparring session....

Remember one thing everyone. Pacquiao will not stand right in front of Cotto like all his other opponents. Pacquiao will turn him just like he did Oscar but I agree that Manny needs to be more careful and a better boxer come Nov. 14th.

what about the pacman knocking out cotto in round one

    Anonymous ( September 29, 2009 at 7:27 PM )

Pacquiao will not stand a chance come November the 14th. If you are a true boxing aficionado and not a blind Pacquiao fan you can tell that he slowed down incredibly for the Delahoya fight. Weight does this Pacquiao fans. Only problem was that Delahoya drained himself to get to 147. In all honesty Pacquaio looked alot slower than Mosley when he fought Cotto. He will slow down because Cotto will time him and hit him like he's never been hit before. By the 5th round Pacquiao will get tired, fighting flat footed and get hurt. Enjoy the beat down!! Come to reality....

Enough of this hullabaloo...Let just wait for D-day (Destruction day) and see who's the better warrior!!!

    Anonymous ( October 3, 2009 at 5:21 AM )

The way I see this fight. . .?! it will came out a 3 round knock out in favor of Manny Pacquiao. Miguel Cotto never fought this kind of a very strong southpaw stance like manny. Cotto is strong but the natural puncher here is manny. The speed and power will be the key for this fight and at the end of the fight the filipino flag will rise once again.MABUHAY!

    Anonymous ( October 9, 2009 at 11:24 PM )

if manny cant take cottos hard punches then i see pacquiao winning this one. manny has to very tactical in this fight and avoid cottos body punches and stay in the middle of the ring because thats were he is effective...

    Anonymous ( October 12, 2009 at 5:22 PM )

    Freddie Roach was quoted:

"Manny has two advantages over his opponents. He's in better shape, and he'll take a punch. He averages 3,000 sit-ups and 44 sparring rounds per day; he runs about eight miles every other morning, uphill. I don't know what it is, but there's something inside of him. When he gets hit, he taps his gloves together as if to say, "Here I come." He gets after an opponent after he takes a shot, as if he liked it.

    pacman ruled

    Anonymous ( October 26, 2009 at 2:41 PM )

Talk all you want pac is the underdog and you can go all day and all night about speed but the truth is that cotto is NOT slow...he is one of the best when it comes to ring generalship...an adaptable fighter with power in both hands and speed to match plenty...just watch him against mosley, judah and margarito the first 6 rounds, manny is not going to hit him harder than any of his previous oponents please be realistic!!!

    Anonymous ( October 29, 2009 at 10:08 PM )

Go "The Champ Miguel Cotto"!!! Hes the best

    Anonymous ( November 3, 2009 at 4:04 AM )

cotto has never been lost or KOed, disregard that fight against margarito, he cheated. but pacman's power can KO cotto, cotto must not underestimate pacman. pacman's gettin bigger and stronger right now. good luck for both of them. its a matter of who's gonna hit first

    Anonymous ( November 8, 2009 at 1:43 AM )

Manny will win because he uses Head and Shoulders shampoo right know that can knock out lice..like cotto...hahahaha...and cottos hair has already been knocked out because he did not use the Head and Shoulders shampoo....hahaha

    Anonymous ( November 8, 2009 at 2:10 PM )

wow! the head and shoulder is the most relevant for manny fight against cotto. you made a really good point and you got the best prediction win for manny hehehe...i guess its not about manny's speed and power it will be "Head and Shoulder vs. Cotto" =)

    Anonymous ( November 9, 2009 at 12:31 PM )

I agree the winning formula is not Mannys speed, but the shampoo he uses. Head and Shoulders eliminate dandruff and kuto. Go Manny Go!

    Anonymous ( November 18, 2009 at 1:35 AM )

So what happened now to people that doubted Pacquiao......Well you guys have to remember they didnt give him the title best pound for pound fighter for nothing.....PAcquiao baby!
