Manny Pacquiao vs Miguel Cotto Puerto Rico Press Conference Video - If the first stop on the promotional tour for the fight between champion Miguel Cotto Puerto Rican and Filipino Manny "Pac Man" Pacquiao in New York was tremendous, the activity that took place today, Saturday in the Performing Arts Center of Caguas, site of the second stop, was explosive.

The press conference did honor to the name of the stellar lineup, entitled Firepower, then on the platform of the Felipe "La Voz" Rodriguez concert hall, the nearly 1,500 fans who packed the theater Cotto lived a spectacle worthy of the mega brawl that both boxers staged on 14 November at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

After a video introduction of the best fights of both fighters, Cotto and Pacquiao made his grand entrance by lifting the platform hidden in between a light show and smoke. The shouts and applause of those present were immediate and after a slight pause in which the fighters posed series, they sat in separate chairs to make way for introductions and announcements by Bob Arum, Top Rank president.

"Sport has been passing by Puerto Rican great moments in recent weeks: (Javier) Culson won a silver medal at the World Athletics Basketball Selection ranked the World Cup and won silver medal in the Premundial and now (Saturday) McWilliams Arroyo and Jose Pedraza won gold and silver respectively at the World Amateur Boxing Championships," said Cotto during his turn at the microphone.

"I assure you that the party will continue when, after 14 November, Miguel Cotto returns to Puerto Rico with a victory," said the boxer while thanking the support he received from his village of Valle del Turabo.

Meanwhile, Pacquiao, six-time champion in six weight divisions and who seek the scepter welterweight version of the World Boxing Organization (WBO), in possession of Puerto Rican, and who is on his first visit to Puerto Rico, said "One thing I can say is that nobody knows what will happen the day of battle, but we're both going to go in search of victory and we will do our best to give the public a good fight. I am very happy to be here and I want to thank the public for having me."

Although Cotto was the vast majority of public support, a small group of followers of Pacquiao were felt with posters and cheers during his turn at the podium.

Meanwhile, Joe Santiago, Cotto coach who will work his corner for the second in a row, predicted that on November 16, Puerto Rico held together with Miguel victory over Pacquiao.

"There are approximately nine weeks for what could be the best fight of the century. There are nine weeks to prepare and no excuses. The team of Miguel Cotto is quite sure that we leave the door wide and 16 November we will be arriving at about 12:00 noon to celebrate the victory with all of you," said Santiago.

In contrast, Freddie Roach, Pacquiao's trainer, was a bit more neutral in their expressions, saying that "in this fight will face two of the best fighters in the world. This is boxing at its best and see how everything ends." Roach received a loud applause from the audience, who both thanked for their hospitality towards him as to his protege.

Cotto, meanwhile, said that on completion of the promotional tour Sept. 15 in the morning return to the island and then leave on September 18 en route to Tampa Florida, site of training camp, which will start on 22 September.

Meanwhile, Roach said Pacquiao will train for four weeks in Baguio, the Philippines, while the last four weeks of preparation the end in Roach's gym, the Wild Card in California.

After the presentation, the boxers made the usual pose of confrontation. Arum also had diamond championship belt commissioned by the president of World Boxing Council (WBC), Jose Sulaiman, for combat. The strip, covered with diamonds, rubies and Swarovski crystals, id to be kept permanently by the victorious boxer.
