A few days after the Oscar De La Hoya vs Manny Pacquiao stalled, both fighters stated that they still wants to fight if their terms could be met. Here some news on the ongoing negotiations:

Sports Illustrated: "It would be very difficult," De La Hoya said when asked about the possibility of waiting until after Sept. 13 to announce an opponent for his Dec. 6 fight. "I want something done by next week."

411mania: When asked about the status of the proposed fight, Bob Arum stated, "Discussions are still going on."

Inside Sports: Golden Boy Promotions vice president and international matchmaker Eric Gomez told
www.insidesports.ph shortly after midnight Wednesday that Schaefer had put forward “a couple of ideas and was basically waiting for a response from Arum.“

411mania: In talking with ESPN.com's Dan Rafael, famed trainer Freddie Roach, who formerly trained DLH and who is now in Pacquiao's corner, Roach offered a solution. "Let's make this a real prize fight. The winner gets the 10 percent. That draws interest in the fight and shows that these guys really want to fight each other. People love when something is on the line. Let's put something on the line. I know both guys like to gamble."

Inside Sports: A reliable source privy to the negotiations told insidesports.ph that representatives of both boxing superstars are now looking at a 67-33 split, in favor of Dela Hoya, to make the fight happen.
