David Diaz lead Chicago’s Cinco de Mayo Parade on May 5th Sunday afternoon. Thousands lined the parade route along Cermak Rd. in the Little Village Mexican neighborhood. He rode a car bearing the sign "Pacquiao vs Diaz" with the passengers waving a miniature flag of Mexico. "Viva Mexico" was heard in the lips of the onlookers while David and his family traverse the two mile route of the parade in a beautiful spring weather.

5th of May (Cinco de Mayo in Spanish language) is a regional holiday in Mexico, primarily celebrated in the state of Puebla. It is not an obligatory federal holiday. The holiday commemorates an initial victory of Mexican forces led by General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguín over French forces in the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. The date is observed in the United States and other locations around the world as a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride.
