It was a star-studded media-driven Pacquiao Marquez 2 open workout for Manny Pacquaio with former Philippine Senator and former Philippine Basketball Association playing coach Robert Jaworski, Black Eyed Pea's Allen Pineda a.k.a. Apl.de.Ap are among the celebrities who attended this workout view. Many Filipinos from Southern California was there to witness Pacquiao.

Coach/trainer Freddie Roach said that compared to the Pacquiao's preparations against his second fight with Marco Antonio Barrera, this one is probably his best yet. Pacquiao even said that this is the hardest training he ever had, who admits that he hasn't been 100 percent focused on his boxing career, that he lost his drive and hunger, but now realized that 2008 is the year he would put all his focus on boxing. He said he will win Pacquiao Marquez 2 to prove that he's still Manny Pacquiao, that he's still hungry to train and that he still wants to be the people's champion. This year Pacquiao didn't gamble, didn't played basketball, avoided all distractions.

Roach said Manny Pacquiao has now both power in both hands, that it was just a matter of confidence, citing that he is now a more complete fighter than the last time Pacquiao met Marquez. That also in this Pacquiao vs Marquez Rematch, the Pacman is now more mature and has more experience under his belt.

In the infotainment show Pinoy Records, a particular segment of the show called Pacman on a Road, which is hosted by the basketball player Chris Tiu, shows Pacquiao's hard training. It's a little bit different than Manny Pacquiao vs Marquez 2 Open Workout Training Video at San Francisco that it includes interviews with Jinky Pacquiao, Manny's abs workout, and him having fun with the guitar.
