Manny Pacquiao's trip has been filled with one rousing event after another. Upon returning to Philippines after his fight with Marquez, he went on a Victory Motorcade parade in Manila, thereafter received the first Elorde Hall of Fame Award, before being promoted to an honorary master sergeant reserve by the Philippine Army.

He received yet another warm welcome at his home town, General Santos City, to a festive welcome rites that was prepared by Mayor Pedro Acharon Jr and Congresswoman Darlene Custodio at the General Santos International Airport. Like in Manila, Pacquiao went on a motorcade in the city’s major thoroughfares.

In a press conference at the covered court of the Carlos Garcia Park, Pacquiao thanked his fans and at the same time sought their support for his scheduled bout with WBC lightweight champion David Diaz. "If I ever do get the title in lightweight division, I would be the 6th person in the whole world to have four titles in different divisions," said Pacquiao.

He end his journey by proceeding to Malungon town in Sarangani province, southern Mindanao where he was conferred the rank of "Datu Damfel Banwe," an honor symbolizing ability, courage and wisdom. Pacquiao, garbed with the native costume of the leading dominant indigenous group B'laan Tribe, was also given seeds of Duguan Tree, which was now renamed to Pacquiao Tree.
